Volunteering

The DPA is one of the largest conservation groups on Dartmoor. Each year our volunteers put in an astonishing 800 days of conservation work on the moor.
We undertake a range of different conservation projects during the course of a year, depending on the season – mainly gorse and scrub clearance in the autumn and winter. Bracken cutting and surveying are our usual summer activities.
There is a regular team of volunteers, mostly DPA members but not all, and they are always pleased to see a new face.

Our calendar of events and conservation workdays is displayed below.

Please note that due to inclement weather it is occasionally necessary to postpone or cancel events. You are strongly advised to contact the organiser of the event beforehand to check the details of the day and the meeting time and place.

Corporate and group volunteering

We actively encourage Partnerships with corporate groups. There are several regular work days to join. If we don't have something we can probably suggest someone who does! Please drop us an email at info@dartmoorpreservation.co.uk

You can click on any event to find out further details of the day and obtain contact details for the organiser, or can make enquiries via the contact form.
