The organisers of the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival have announced that tickets for their program of walks and activities are now on sale. Bookable activities are split into three categories: adventures, walks and workshops. Adventures include rock climbing and forest chi wild walks, while the workshops include nordic walking, photography walks and morning yoga.
As well as this, there’s an impressive line up of walks, from accessible walks to longer treks, mindful excursions and opportunities to learn about history. Most tickets are £15 or £25, although the four walks led by the DPA are free, as we are keen to support access to the moor for all. Our Ecologist and Land Manager, Luke Sutton, is leading two ecology walks: Dartmoor Upland Ecology at Sharpitor and Dartmoor Upland Ecology at Hound Tor. Helen Bruce, our Communications Officer, is also leading two story walks: Wistman’s Wood and the Wild Hunt and Merrivale Rows and Wild Ritual. All of these walks can be booked now on the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival website.

The DPA are delighted to be one of the lead partners for the festival and are extremely pleased to see such a broad range of experiences on offer. We have subsidised the cost of places on our walks and hope that many people will take advantage of the opportunity to get to know Dartmoor better.
The ethos of the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival is very much in line with our own beliefs around access and sustainability, with goals of the festival including to sustainably highlight the recreational activities that can be enjoyed on Dartmoor, to encourage engagement from those in the surrounding area and to boost tourism. There will be a strong focus on sustainability and accessing Dartmoor responsibly, on making engagement as affordable and accessible as possible, and on celebrating the community of Dartmoor.
Organisers have also announced that they are ready to invite a select few local businesses to collaborate with them and be part of the inaugural festival this year.
