Dartmoor Partner, a new collection of family-friendly Dartmoor walks is now live. The DPA have been pleased to partner with Dartmoor Partner from the early stages, joining Moorland Guides in helping to shape this fantastic resource. Visitors and locals alike can sign up for a small yearly fee, but there are also free routes available online for anyone in need of walking inspiration to try.

We have worked with Dartmoor Partner to embed messaging around treading lightly and leaving no trace while enjoying walks on the moor. Alongside this, we have integrated our 3Ps wild toileting guidance, which we hope will empower families with the knowledge of what to do when the call of nature strikes out in nature. By building education into enjoyable days out, we hope to equip both new and regular visitors with the tools to be sensitive stewards of Dartmoor.

The Explorer Plan gives you reliable access to all fixed 35 routes for a year. The Supporter Plan is for those who want to go a little further. This goes towards helping Dartmoor Partner grow, supports local charities by donating 5% of annual turnover every year, and brings even more in return with live route updates throughout every season. Both plans give full value. You just choose how involved you want to be.

Working with allied organisations in the community is a priority for the DPA and we hope to continue supporting access to Dartmoor for all through working with Dartmoor Partner. Access is a core focus for us and we believe in education and empowering conversations around responsible and sustainable nature connection. Having the chance to build a relationship with wild spaces as a young person is of huge importance, as these experiences are likely to shape the priorities and actions of people as they grow older.
