OUR VISION FOR DARTMOOR
HOW IT LOOKS…
At the DPA, we believe that the beauty and heritage of Dartmoor are intertwined. We work closely with local groups and experts in ecology and archaeology to ensure that Dartmoor is managed in a way that respects its natural and cultural heritage.
HOW IT FEELS…
We understand that Dartmoor is more than just a landscape. We work to protect, not only the landscape itself, but also the rights of everyone to access and experience the immeasurable benefits of our precious green spaces. We believe that education, rather than restriction, is vital to their protection.
HOW IT CONNECTS…
The love of Dartmoor is a unifying force that connects communities in the area. Through outreach programs and collaboration with local groups, we are working to ensure that Dartmoor is protected and enjoyed for generations to come.
We work to deliver our vision for Dartmoor, with, and for our membership, through campaigning locally and nationally in 3 core programmes.
Large scale residential development,
Changes of use,
Prevent non-native forestry expansion
Advocating for backpack camping,
Championing rights of way,
Enabling young people to access Dartmoor
Managing our 4 land holdings,
Archaeological work and conservation,
Support to nature regeneration projects,
Arguing for an increase in
National Parks funding
